Work Day August 30th

Today JR, Connor, and Carsey went to the warehouse to install the 78 mm piston into the Kawasaki JS300 cylinder. JR installed the piston onto the crankshaft while Connor and Carsey cleaned up the shop. After JR finished, Carsey and JR Reinstalled the block, and installed the exhaust system. They then took a compression reading. it previously read 30 psi but now read 120 Psi. Now that it had proper compression, Carsey installed the carburetor and tuned it to the specs of the old carb. Carsey and JR ran a testfire using starting spray and the ski backfired only. It also made a loud clunk in the lower end when the starter was released. After this the crew had to leave because the air conditioner is still broken and its unsafe. later that night Carsey spent some time researching the issue and has come to two conclusions, its either a sheared flywheel key or the engine isn’t timed properly.
